STUDENT RECORD MAINTENANCE

Student Records are maintained by the school for a period of Five Years from the Last Day of Attendance. Student transcripts will be kept on file permanently and available upon a student’s request. Currently enrolled student records will be maintained on a server and in the Main campus site business office in fire-resistant cabinets. Academia staff will have the ability to immediately reproduce exact, legible printed copies of stored records. Copies of student records will be able to be copied within two (2) business days during normal operating hours Monday through Friday.

All records that the school is required to maintain shall be made immediately available by the school for inspection and copying during normal business hours by the Ohio officials and any entity authorized to conduct review and investigations. The school has personnel scheduled to be present at all times during normal business hours who can explain and access the records to any person authorized to inspect and copy records under Ohio law.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.FERPA affords students who have attended a post-secondary institution the following rights related to their education records:

● Inspect and review information in your education record

● Request amendment of your education record

● Consent to disclosure of personally identifiable information in your education record
